I’m happy to announce that our 6 track EP has now been released on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, YouTube Music, and several other streaming music platforms. The TFR EP began as a little 2020s solo music experiment, to bring a semblance of live music and the life it brings to the isolation of the pandemic, and by the end it outperformed any of those early expectations.
You can follow the links above or simply search for “Tomorrow’s Forgotten Relics” on any of those streaming services. (It is also available on Bandcamp).
I would like to eventually release a limited edition remaster on vinyl and CD, however that will likely take a successful Kickstarter… However, I know from prior experience the amount of work that a successful Kickstarter takes.
Speaking of Kickstarters, the Tales From When I Had A Face limited editions and other goodies from that campaign have all been distributed, and hopefully will be enjoyed for years to come. I am still hoping to find a publishing partner for a larger release, although I haven’t sent any more queries since the last round over the summer.
This brings me to some “real talk”…
The truth is, as many of my friends probably already know, the combination of pandemic, social disintegration and chronic illnesses have hit a peak for me… especially after contracting Covid and developing ongoing symptoms from that as well.
I’m beyond burned out.
I hope the work I’ve done over the past few years has been a source of inspiration, but I need to step back a while, as much as it frustrating for me… as it feels like the Fallen Cycle has really just been coming into focus — with so many stories and characters to bring out now that the setting has been well-defined. And all these projects need someone with fire in their belly to advocate for them and get them out there in what is an even more competitive and unforgiving “creative industry” than ever.
But that’s life.
For at least the foreseeable future, I’ve got to focus what energy I have on my recovery. If I have any extra left in the tank beyond that and survival, it’ll be going into rebuilding my internal arts practice, doing occasional digital paintings, and hopefully continuing to play RPGs as I can. Maybe I will share some of what that process looks like, if I’m sufficiently convinced that would be interesting and useful to enough of you…
I will update here and on my sites if and when these things change. In the meantime, of course, I’m always appreciative of sales in the back catalog and “word of mouth”.
I hope you’re taking care of yourselves, and remaining aware of the contagion risks going on as this debilitating, disabling pandemic enters its third-year.
This thing is absolutely not fucking around, although most of America seems to be. Hopefully more of us aren’t about to find out.
